Exploring Paddling, Rowing, and Sailing at Sebago
Thank you to everyone who helped with our City of Water Day Open House on July 25.
The day was a resounding success! We provided more than 200 community members the opportunity to try paddling, rowing, and sailing.

Our partnership with state Senator Roxanne Persaud continues, and her office arranged for more than half a dozen Police Explorer groups to attend. We also had many guests from the surrounding community who came for a fun day with family and friends.
It takes a lot of volunteer support for an event like this to run smoothly. A huge thanks to everyone involved—including the crew who did pre-event grounds clean up; the schleppers, shoppers, and choppers who supplied all the food and drink; the land crew who greeted the guests, answered questions, and organized the trips; and of course the on-water crew who made sure that everyone was paddling, rowing, and sailing safely. Last but certainly not least, thank you to our indefatigable grill team, who once again managed to feed a very hungry group of volunteers—and to those who stayed to the end to get everything cleaned up.
To me, one of the best aspects of the day is always to see how our membership comes together as a community, generously sharing their time, expertise (and energy) to provide on-water access to the larger community. Thank you all!
