Happy New Year!

Thanks to everyone for the volunteer hours you put in to keep Sebago running smoothly. Your dedication and commitment is vital. We rely on volunteers for everything — from getting people on the water safely and maintaining the building and grounds to ensuring our bills are paid, the lights stay on, and the lawn gets mowed.

It is your unfailing enthusiasm, support, and general good cheer that makes Sebago such a welcoming place for both the community who attend our open houses and members old and new.

This year, thanks to your efforts, we had a full calendar with on-water events virtually every weekend, and we got some much-needed reinforcements to our team of kayak trip leaders, who are so essential in getting people on the water. We had full crews of land and water volunteers for our open houses, and member ambassadors on hand to welcome any weekend visitors.

The sailors hosted their inaugural metropolitan-area sunfish race and organized sailing and navigation classes while the canoeists coordinated family-friendly camping outings and continued their community outreach by working with the student engineers training for concrete canoe races. The membership team welcomed almost 50 new members, and work was done demolishing the old rowing storage shed and building a new one in preparation for some further clubhouse improvements.

2024 at Sebago: The Year in Pictures

Whew! I am looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish in 2025!

But most importantly,  you have all played an essential part in making Sebago a true community, a place where certainly many friendships have been forged. Without the camaraderie and teamwork that has allowed us to accomplish so much, Sebago would just be a plot of land with a lot of boats and some shipping containers. So thank you for all you do to make Sebago such a special place for us all!

Wishing you all the happiest of holidays and a joyous and healthy new year!
