Saturday, Nov. 12 was a busy day at the club, with the kayak and sailing committees — as well as the garden and grounds regulars — all working to get things squared away before this fall’s amazing run of balmy weather came to an end (which it did the next day).

Nearly thirty club members turned out to help, and things got done: Five cubic yards of gravel were spread on the low spots in the driveway; a huge brush pile was transformed into an orderly compost heap; trees and weeds were trimmed, with the cuttings chipped into mulch; and new shelving got built in the clubhouse. Club kayaks, sailboats, and the Canarsian all received lots of attention, and seven pizzas were ordered and consumed.

Thank you to all those who organized the work crews and to everyone who pitched in. You can log your service hours here.
Still on the to-do list:
- Setting up the rainwater collection barrels (running water from our neighbors at Diamond Point will be shut off next weekend);
- Installing the “bubbler” system to prevent ice buildup around the dock;
- Some touch-up work on the Canarsian before she is covered for the winter.
If you’re interested in helping with any of those jobs, please email the vice commodore at avironvoile@gmail.com. If you’re interested in joining the garden committee, their email is gardening@sebagocanoeclub.org.
