Celebrating New Honorary Member – John Wright

On January 1, 2019, at the annual Frostbite Regatta and potluck, Sebago Canoe Club started off the New Year with a truly special event. Though small craft warnings kept our members off the water, we paid tribute to long-term member John Wright by making him a lifetime honorary member. A member for close to 20 years, John has served as Commodore, Vice-Commodore and as a Board member and has also actively participated in our kayaking and canoe programs, both on the water and as essential ground support. He has put in untold hours overseeing much of the work involved in maintaining our grounds and clubhouse.

John has been an exemplary member of our all-volunteer Club and his contributions and good cheer are, and continue to be, greatly appreciated. Congratulations John!

    Good bye John.

You were the most beloved member of the South Midwood Community. An exemplary citizen, a good and fun pal, an excellent neighbor, the best of the best! To the very end you were the first to jump in and help out anyone in need. Always upbeat, always uplifting, you elevated my spirits every time I saw you. My heart aches to lose you.

My memories of you are a blessing.

    Much love
